For my entire lifetime, ppl have been telling me things like i'm a "dick-magnet" or "SPG" (*glares at karen*) and I attract the wrong kinda guys. Well....I've to say I'm a true living testimony to those who have commented about me - ulgh..i'm horrified to learn about myself. Sniffles...nOoooOOOoo...

I missed my bus yesterday. I actually helplessly watched my usual bus whizz past me. Anyway as I was saying, I had to catch the next train. While waiting for the train, this goofy looking gentleman started this conversation by saying "have I seen you before?".

First things first...CHEESYYY...but whatever it is, he asked me whether I attended any conference 2 years back, so I explained to him that I wasn't in town. Then our conversation continued...

Renzi: (tone: bored) Erm... I was studyin in Australia.
L: Oh...So wat's your name?
R: (uncomfortable) Ermm...Renee
L: Oh, I'm XXXXXXX. So what do you do?

Ahhhhhhhh....Yesterday after a loooong day of fishing (for crabs) in Pasir Ris with them clients and colleagues, and a couple of hours of lessons, I treated myself to something more decadent - chilli crabs, ee fu noodies (in Red House) and chocolate truffle cake (in Cheescake cafe). Just imagine to intense orgasm I was experiencing....HEAVENNN...

Anywayy... I must mention that if you are craving for Caesar's Salads, PLEASE NEVER GO TO COFFEE CLUB. Their Caesar's salad really sucks. It's too creamy and it makes you pissed and disatisfied. 0(&%$#*&$(#@

I wanna go home

The other day, Tues to be exact, I was lookin through some photos and I came across the other time when I just finished my last exam (stupid damn marketing paper) - When I became officially unemployed. I remember toasting to that =p And it was my virgin experience drinking green tea whiskey! Nice!

My first time actually fully smoking a cigarette. Not really a proud moment. =p But yeah... I miss my housemates!!!

We also drank so much. Think i was so high and happy that I volunteered drinking more during the game session.

Hmm...well, there used to be a craze for blogs, hell some started blogging because I introduced this concept to them. I mean, I'm not saying that blogs have become passe but certain outlets like video streaming have become a lot more popular (examples would include youtube.com and metacafe.com.)

With videos, you get to see and pick up certain details that cannot be noted through blogs (words basically). Expressions, tones get more apparant. And of course, music and sound effects can be added to give a certain edge. In addition, You wouldn't have to actually read, you just watch (lazy way of learning things). They say that we tend to absorb more because we're more inclined to the combination of sight and sound - we learn more. AND did I mention entertainment? It's probably more entertaining as we & technology progress. Just check out the above links (search for "Britney") or even break.com, you'll have an idea as to what to expect.

It gets juicier and juicier. As we move towards this era and the next, I wonder what will happen in the near future...

Nice weekend (excluding today...)

Yesterday I met up with a couple of the 4C peeps. It was a good time catching up with them. Found out that one of us is actually working in the media industry. I'm actually quite surprised. The boys were mostly still studying. You can't blame anyone except the A_M_ (fill in the blanks yourself hahahha).

We had our dinner at Fish&Co before we proceeded to catch the fireworks in City Hall. We were actually quite lucky to catch at least 5 minutes of the spectacle. (I love humouring myself...and of course I took videos of it. Check out one of them below. ANYWAY Call me suaku but hey! It is always a delightful treat for us Singaporeans to watch something so beautiful. Pity it doesn't last. And pity it costs so much. PITY WE CAN'T DIY!!!

It was explosive! Sigh..I want more fireworks...

Guess who was at Chijmes too!? REN REN!!! HAHAHAHA...well... other than ren, i met up with Byron before I went for dinner with the 4C peeps.

Oh yeah...as I was saying...A couple of us then proceeded to Chijmes for a drink. =) Talked cocked sang songs...hahha...Nah lah..but we just chatted for almost 2 hours before we called it a day. =)

It's nice to see how everyone's growing up, some (actually one only) even thinking of settling down in 3-4 years time! That's crazy! But oh well...to each his own!

Fireworks on a normal day??

I was out with the trainees yesterday. We wanted to celebrate S' birthday but after dinner at this seemingly identical Marche-like place, she left together with most of the dollar-desk gals. Soooo.....we proceeded to Harry's only to find the place JAM-PACKED with locals, n expats. We landed ourselves at this cosy pub a few shops away from Harry's (along Boat Quay). Soon, a couple more like V and A had to leave so...these are the remaining survivors (although P looked like she was going to collapse). We did, however, manage to catch a glimpse of...the spectacular fireworks show. Nice! Check out the video below!

Happy Birthday Singapore!!!

I don't know anyone whose birthday falls on the 9th of August, soooo screw it - here's wishing Singapore a HAPPY 41st BIRTHDAY!

Wow, how time flies. I happened to switch channels to watch the NDP 2006 and I'm pretty glad to watch the spectacular parade. I mean, it's the last time it's being held in the National Stadium. And when a video was being played, I almost shed a tear. It was moving to actually see how Singapore has progressed and is still progressing, changing and improving. I'm proud to be Singapore, and I'm happy that I am Singaporean.

Guess for some of the Singaporean students who have been overseas, you would be able to attest to this - that Singapore's your home, and will always be your home. I mean, every time I touched down and reached Singapore, I would be greeted by warm, humid air and more importantly I would be overwhelmed - I couldn't help but felt a sense of familiarity. I'm sure some would be able to relate to this. Being overseas for 3 years has made me love Singapore more - the peace, the stability, the freedom to do whatever (maybe not everything, but you know what I mean *wink*), the weather, the food! Need I say more?

I mean apart from the certain unpleasant qualities of Singaporeans and Singapore, guess you've gotta take the good with the bad. Look, it's much better than certain countries that are experiencing political situations at the moment, yes, no?

Singapore will always be a part of me. Trust me, your perspective of Singapore will change if you go overseas. But, of course, if you are already proud to be Singapore, good for you mate!

*grin* I've said my peace for today. HAHAHHA....and nooo, LKY or GCT or the PAP didn't pay me to say all this. Trust me, it comes from the bottom of my heart. =)

This is homeeee...trullyyyyyy ---> that's one of my favourite songs btw! Sigh, I was a tad bit disappointed that I couldn't actually be at the stadium to squeeze with 20,000 others, exchange sweaty looks, and well, experience the atmosphere in the National Stadium for the last time and of courseeeee have fun!

Oh well...

BTW...i wanna try goin to National Stadium before it closes down. =( So many memories there... sigh...

1) i remember it's meiqi's birthday... hahahhaha those were the days. Dont EVER think she'll be reading my blog since she used to dislike me. ANYWAYS happy birthday girl!

One day when I was bored, I happened to look through this cupboard where I used to throw my.......presents that didn't use since primary school (ie useless gifts). There, you can imagine the amount of dust I've collected over the years. In that particular cupboard, I threw disposed at least 1/2 of the lot. Among them were....

decorative weights...dunno wat to call them..... i threw away about 10 of them?

7 cups.... IMAGINE THE DUST I ACTUALLY COLLECTED... AND on top of that, I realised I have about 13 piggy banks to my name. Tsk...the audicity! My friends actually thought I didn't save! (it's actually true lah)

I kinda concluded some useless gifts you shouldn't give to your friend, UNLESS (i must stress again, unless) it is handmade and well you know that you will use it (I guess)

1) Mugs. Trust me. NO ONE needs them anymore. That's almost an essential. Wait, that IS an essential in any house.
2) Candles. Unless you love them scented candles, like me. It's really useless to a person, especially for people in Singapore I reckon.
3) Those bloody weights that you get in gift shops - ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!
4) Water bottles. Passe.
5) Stationery - Unless they are primary school kids
6) Notebooks, diaries - hello? What century are you living in???
7) Candle holders - erm..same reason as point2. AND if you don't have candles, why would you friggin need them holders??!
8) Cap - Unless you know the person's taste, you should NEVER get a cap for the person
9) Umbrella. Ermmm.....ermmm.... need I say more?!?
10) Stuffed toys. I threw away almost all my stuffed toys in year 2. They are a waste of space AND.....they collect dust!!!

weeks of pampering

i've had the luxury these few days to indulge in food. i just simply love food. i think if i actually don't gain weight, i'll be eating the whole day! =)

fondue anyone?? Other than the shop that closed down in Serangoon (Chomp Chomp), I've yet to find a good fondue place other than Haigan Dazz

Jon n I had yummy dinner (sausages, steak..) jus last week. It wasn't too bad. I love sausages!!!

Prata anyone? Didn't take a photo of the prata lah...was too tired then. It was like what, 11.30pm?? Anyway Sam came down to town! =)

After my dim sum buffet with geok pei on Saturday, I had ANOTHER buffet on Sunday. *groan***

ANDDDD I have to mention this! On Friday, I actually went for a foot spa. First, I soaked my feet in warm water.

I was given magazines and tea while relaxing and sinking myself into the massage chair.

After the person massaged my feet...

My feet were soaked in melted wax. They wrapped my hardened waxed feet in plastics. And i was left to rest in bliss.

Finally they rolled out the wax and put some funny moisturiser on my feet. HAHAHA...i love pampering myslf like that. I hope I can do it soon again. Now, that's my virgin experience with a foot spa. I'm a virgin no more! =(
